Teach Me Your Story: The Function of Autobiographical Stories As a Pedagogical Tool

Abstract
The efficacy of autobiographical stories as a tool to promote student understanding in a university research methods course was explored. Autobiographical stories helped students to understand the course material and related to learning outcomes, and this relation was partially explained by the positive classroom environment created by sharing personal stories.
