Abstract
Among 1,566 Hispanic participants aged 51+ from the Health and Retirement Study, more frequent religious attendance, but not religious belief or private prayer, was associated with fewer depressive symptoms. Stratified models revealed an additional inverse relationship between private prayer and depressive symptoms among immigrant, but not U.S.-born, Hispanics.
