Negativity Garners More Interactions on Twitter for Liberal but Not Conservative News Accounts.

Abstract
Increases in political polarization have increased news organizations use of affective messaging. Given that affect can guide decision-making, we explored the possibility that affect guides decisions to interact with news accounts on Twitter. Results of the study show that negativity increases interactions with liberal but not conservative accounts.
Affect
