Abstract

The Perruchet effect is a partial-reinforcement classical conditioning procedure that was designed to distinguish between contiguity and contingency (predictability) accounts of the conditioning effect. We report here on a new procedure using aversive photographs as unconditioned stimuli. Our results indicated a replication of the effect.
