Abstract
A 'conspiracy theory' is a belief that most find unlikely. Participants were assessed with the Magical Ideation Scale, Hong Reactance Scale, General Paranoia Scale, and the Generic Conspiracist Beliefs Scale. Magical Ideation and Reactance predicted Belief Scale scores, adjusted R2 = .499, F(3, 138) = 38.58, p < .001.
