Are Distractors Forgotten? the Role of Source Memory in a Working Memory Task

Irrelevant material from working memory tasks is thought to be forgotten so that it does not interfere with memory for target information. However, according to our investigations, irrelevant material may not be forgotten, but rather tagged with source such that it can be filtered at test.
