Maternal Role-Confusion, Maternal Emotion Regulation, and Preadolescent Behavioral Problems

We evaluated the associations of maternal role-confusion with her family of origin and maternal emotion regulation with preadolescent behavioral problems (N =112). Emotion regulation processes were associated with preadolescent behavioral problems and maternal lack of strategies to cope with negative emotions explained the relation between emotional role-confusion and behavioral problems.
