Abstract
Evening alcohol consumption, compared to placebo, resulted in greater nighttime wakefulness and slower reaction times to stop-signals the following morning. Further, greater wakefulness following a higher dose of alcohol was associated with poorer morning inhibitory control. Results suggest links between evening alcohol consumption, sleep and cognitive functioning the following morning.
