Abstract

The present study assessed the effect of positive emotions on persuasion processing. Serenity-induced-individuals were more susceptible to weak arguments than awe-induced individuals. Additionally, trust (a component of trait serenity) was associated with greater susceptibility to persuasive arguments. Serenity, unlike awe, may increase susceptibility to persuasive attempts.
