Effects of Violent Video Game Content, Difficulty, and Competition on Aggressive Behavior

Abstract
Participants played a violent or non-violent video game in which they either competed and won, lost, or did not compete. Results revealed that participants became more aggressive only after competing. These results support the assertion that competition in video games has an independent and significant effect on subsequent aggression.
