Abstract
In a randomized placebo-controlled between-subject double-blind design, we investigated the effect of caffeine consumption on creative problem solving and creative idea generation. Results indicated that participants who consumed 200 mg of caffeine (vs. placebo) showed enhanced problem-solving abilities. Caffeine had no significant effects on creative idea generation.
