The Validation of Language: Do Content Analysis Dictionaries Correlate?

Abstract
150 speeches by President Obama and poll results were content analyzed using the Aging Stereotypes, Harvard General Inquirer, PANAS, Laver &Gary Political, Financial Sentiment Dictionaries. Strong correlations were found between the PANAS and Harvard dictionaries r=.0963. Discriminant validity was found through the lack of correlation with the Regressive image dictionary.
