Abstract
We assessed the preliminary effectiveness of a mindfulness-based intervention on posttraumatic stress symptoms among racial/ethnic, socioeconomically-disadvantaged women in a community setting. There was a significant reduction of posttraumatic stress symptom severity from baseline to end of the eight-week treatment. Women with more severe symptoms at baseline demonstrated greater symptom reduction.
