Feeding the Tears: Testing the Relationship between Sadness Intensity and Food Consumption.

Abstract
Does sadness increase or decrease food consumption? Previous mixed findings could be due to varying levels of sadness intensity or to variation in the nutritional content. We experimentally induced sadness using a recall paradigm and measured subsequent differences in the amount and type of food desired.
