Timing Matters: The Interplay of the Retrieval Frequency and Temporal Distance between Retrieving a Prior List and Encoding a New List in Vocabulary Retention

Abstract
The current research illuminated the interplay between repeated retrievals and temporal distance in lexical memory reconsolidation. Though increasing retrievals alone could not completely shield memory from disruptions, a delayed encoding of novel vocabulary amplified the mnemonic benefits of repeated retrievals to elevate the resistance of memory against disruptions.
