Abstract
We investigated the factor structure of the defensive confidence scale using exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis. Results suggest that a factor solution acknowledging the multidimensional nature of the defensive confidence construct is preferable to the 1-factor solution identified in past investigations of the psychometric properties of the instrument.
