Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Provided By Predoctoral Clinicians Is Effective and Low-Cost for Clients

Abstract
It cost $302,487 per year ($1,402.99/session/client/year) to train predoctoral clinicians and operate an in-house Psychology Training Clinic at a university in the Mid-Atlantic United States. Clients paid $10-$40/session, based on income. Generalized linear modeling revealed that client mental health symptoms significantly decreased across treatment, t(2784) = -20.64, p < .001.
