Abstract

We examined whether juror characteristics predict verdicts better than case variables when the defendant is accused of murdering her abusive husband. Results revealed that greater hostile sexism predicted more defendant guilt. Increased benevolent sexism and higher expectation of alcohol as a facilitator of sexuality were associated with less defendant guilt.
