Mind Attribution of Social Robots: Examining Anthropomorphic Appearance, Robot Gender, and Social Function

Abstract
Perceptions of mind in robots was examined by manipulating differences in human-like appearance, robot gender, and social function. Our findings suggest that appearance directly influences mind attribution. Robot gender was nearing significance for the interaction, and impacts the attribution of certain internal states perceived.
