Abstract
Participants conversed with a virtual human that they believed was either an Artificially Intelligent agent (AI) or a human partner. Unlike the human partner, the AI partner elicited least favorable perceptions when disclosing moderate similarity to the participants, perhaps due to the mismatch between artificial appearance and human-like disclosing style.
