Abstract
Depleting apolipoprotein E (APOE)– the greatest genetic risk factor for late-onset Alzheimer’s disease– expression in hepatocytes and thus lowering plasma apoE protein levels did not affect amyloid-β plaque deposition– one of the foremost biological hallmarks of Alzheimer’s– in the brains of a new APOE knock-in mouse model.
