Subjective Duration Increases with Semantic Association
- John Reeder

Abstract
Time perception is affected by perceptual and emotional factors, but this experiment reveals a conceptual one. In a temporal reproduction task, related word pairs seemed to last longer than unrelated pairs presented for the same objective duration. This novel result is consistent with attentional gate models and other theoretical accounts.
