Abstract

This study examines associations between language use, relationship distress, and dating aggression in couples’ daily lives. Multilevel models showed that males who perpetrated dating aggression used more anger and swear words. Additionally, females who perpetrated more dating aggression used more anger words, but only when feeling annoyed at their partner.
