Peer Recognition of Behavioral Symptoms of Eating Disorders in Males and Females

Recognition of behavioral symptoms of eating disorders (ED) in vignettes was poor, especially when the vignette target was male. Participants were better able to identify compensatory behaviors as pathological, compared to restrictive eating and binging behaviors. More education on behavioral symptoms of ED is needed to promote early treatment referral.
