Abstract
This study examined differential item functioning (DIF) using an item response theory to compare the measurement of depressive symptoms (Beck Depression Inventory II) between people living with HIV in India and the United States. Items 6 and 16 had non-uniform DIF, with Indians being more likely to endorse these items.
