Why Are You Copying? the Effects of Interpersonal Closeness on Nonverbal Mimicry during Face-to-Face Interactions

Abstract
Mimicry could be considered the behavioral instantiation of interpersonal closeness. No literature has explored this directly. We address this in 2 motion capture studies. We examine how our perception of closeness with our effects how much we unconsciously mimic their behavior, and if nonverbal mimicry influences feelings of interpersonal closeness
