A Mixed Methods Approach to Understanding Preservice Teachers’ Racialized Attributions of Students’ Perceived Misbehaviors

Abstract
Preservice teachers’ viewed four vignettes depicting boys’ misbehaviors in school. Participants reported their hypothetical reactions to these behaviors. Results indicated preservice teachers implemented the harshest disciplines for Black students than for White students. Education programs must better address how implicit bias may lead to differential treatment in the classroom.
