Abstract

This presentation integrates contemporary social events in teaching error detection theory. Dr. Ford alleged that U.S. Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her. How are allegations, denials, and testimony evaluated as credible. Decisions about allegations can be likened to Signal Detection Theory and also of Type 1-2 errors.
