Abstract

This study explored culturally specific neural correlates of belief- and desire-reasoning among 26 Japanese children (4-6-year-olds) with ERP method. There were culturally specific tendencies of belief- and desire-reasoning in frontal and occipital components. This suggested that Japanese children use different cortical area from American children during reasoning other’s mental states.
