Abstract

With 315 Black middle school students, we examined the role of school-based racial discrimination on Black youths’ beliefs about the causes of the Black-White achievement gap. The findings suggest that discrimination from teachers may be more influential than discrimination from peers in shaping Black youth’s beliefs about the achievement gap.
