Early Knowledge of Small Number Word Meanings in Toddlers

Abstract
We use looking-time methods, including preferential looking and violation of expectation, to investigate number word knowledge in English-speaking toddlers ages 18 to 30 months. Such methods are potentially more sensitive to children's early knowledge than standardly used behavioral tasks.
