Study Strategies of Newly Matriculated College Students: Do Incoming Public, Private, and Home-Schooled Students’ Strategies Differ?

Abstract

This study found that college freshmen who were home-schooled reported greater use of certain empirically supported, efficacious study strategies such as self-testing and distributed learning as compared to public school students. When aggregated across the three school types, the data were similar to those presented in prior research.
