Abstract

Eye tracking technology was used to observe 4- to 7-year-old children (N = 40) construct an object with a step-by-step plan alone (pretest, posttest) and with mother. With increasing age, children displayed more effective use of the plan; collaborating with mother was positively related to children’s posttest performance.
