A Novel Left Anterior Negativity for Novel Sensory Metaphors

Abstract
Novel French sensorimotor metaphors (“history scarred”) and literal counterparts with the same concrete adjectives (“customer scarred”) were presented in a DVF ERP study. Metaphors evoked a previously unreported left anterior negativity, while the right hemisphere responded stronger to less concrete metaphors.
