Abstract

This study compared whether executive functions or chess skill were the stronger predictors of academic achievement in language, sciences, and arts primary education subjects. The coloured path and interference subtests were the strongest predictors throughout most school subjects. Chess skill was a more robust predictor of mathematics and musical arts.
