The Effect of an Acting Experience in Drama on Social Cognitive Skills.

Abstract

The current study examined whether acting experience in drama can influence social cognitive skills. In a controlled intervention with mind-reading tasks and an empathy questionnaire (N=40), participants in the acting experience group scored higher than the script-reading group, only when participants transported into the story of the play-script.
