Specific Scripts and Reading Tasks Really Matter in the Relationship between Morphological Awareness and Chinese Reading Skills: A Meta-Analysis

Abstract

In the meta-analysis, we examined the correlation between morphological awareness and Chinese reading skills. Results showed the moderate effect sizes. Chinese scripts and reading tasks (character reading and word reading) moderated the correlation between morphological awareness and word reading . These findings indicated the unique features of Chinese language.
