Motor Processing Determines Word Comprehension

Abstract

We evaluate whether movement determines the semantic processing of words. Participants performed a semantic judgement task with homographs at the time they performed hand or foot movements. Compared to a condition without movement, the performance of movement determined the preference for one of the two homograph meanings.
