Abstract
Cognitive effort might be costly, but people are willing to do effortful tasks when they expect to be rewarded. However, people tend to value their efforts differently. We hypothesized and found that the subjective cost of effort (effort discounting) is influenced by the perception of available internal resources or willpower.
