Abstract

We investigate how speaking and gesturing about an event predict memory for different aspects of the event across Dutch and Turkish speakers. Encoding path of motion in speech predicted higher path memory accuracy for Dutch-speakers, but not for Turkish-speakers. For both groups, co-speech gesture production did not predict memory accuracy.
