Socioeconomic Status Predicts Infants' Attentional Control

Abstract

Estimated family income significantly predicted infants' attentional control above and beyond the effects of age, gender and race in both a face/object preference task and a visual-auditory intermodal emotion matching task. These results add to our understanding of the early emergence of executive function deficits related to SES.
