Cognitive Flexibility: From Insight to Impact

Cognitive flexibility is the ability to adapt responses to meet unexpected environmental changes or task demands. We discuss the neurocognitive processes determining cognitive flexibility as revealed through individual differences in resting-state brain activity, susceptibility to distraction, and learning preferences. We present noninvasive brain stimulation manipulations that can optimize cognitive flexibility.
