Evolutionary Psychology and the Social Emotions
Evolutionary perspectives offer unique insights into to the form and function of psychology. This symposium shows how such perspectives can illuminate our understanding of four social emotions: anger, shame, gratitude, and disgust. Each talk details novel hypothesis tests of how these emotions function to navigate problems posed by social valuation.
