Beyond the Effortful Control of Emotion: Exploring Relatively Effortless and Implicit Routes to Emotion Regulation
Emotion regulation is often thought of as an effortful process; however, it need not be. In this symposium, we will discuss how both selection and implementation of certain strategies can occur relatively effortlessly, expanding under what conditions and for whom the down-regulation of negative emotions is possible.
