Social Computations: Applying Reinforcement Learning Models to Understand Social Behavior
In this symposium we apply the tools of reinforcement learning to examine a variety of social phenomena. Specifically, we examine how group membership affects the acquisition of trust, how social preferences impede equitable trade, how ostracism propagates incidentally, and how empathy sways individuals to utilize automatic model-free learning strategies.
