Pain is a common experience, which can persist beyond the expected healing time. This symposium brings together novel insights from experimental, neuro-imaging and translational research on pain-related fear, avoidance, and an array of psychological factors (e.g. stress, trauma) contributing to the development and maintenance of chronic pain across the lifespan.
