Testing the Validity of Self-Reported Posttraumatic Growth: What Does Perceived Growth Really Mean?

Whether self-reported posttraumatic growth (PTG) reflects true change remains to be established. Through 3 presentations and discussion, this symposium illuminates the limited extent to which actual PTG is reflected in perceived PTG, highlighting the key roles of research designs and methods, aiming to promote more rigorous scientific perspectives on PTG.
