Abstract

Differences and associations between risk (rumination, depression, negative life events) and protective factors (grit, gratitude) were examined among individuals with and without NSSI history. Individuals with NSSI, compared to those without, reported lower gratitude and higher rumination, depression, and life-stressors. NSSI status was predicted by higher rumination and lower gratitude.
