Experiences of Agency Influence Memory for Moral Behavior

Abstract

We investigated whether experiences of agency influence an unrelated memory task for descriptions of moral and immoral behavior. Results showed an interaction such that recall was impaired for descriptions of moral rather than immoral behavior encoded following experiences of low agency but not after high-agency experiences.
