Learning about Bias

People are motivated to maintain an egalitarian self-image, and so many respond defensively to implicit bias science. In this study (N=717), we demonstrate that asking participants to evaluate the credibility of a measure of implicit attitudes before receiving bias feedback causes a reduction in defensiveness and increase in awareness.
